Getting Started with SureCart

This document explains how to install SureCart, complete the initial setup, connect a SureCart account, and create the first product. By the end, the store will be installed and ready for further customization.

Note: This is an introductory guide. For advanced configuration of individual features, refer to the related documentation listed at the end of this document.

Requirements

  • WordPress admin access
  • A WordPress site (self-hosted or cloud-hosted)
  • A valid email address for store notifications

Installing the SureCart Plugin

The SureCart plugin can be installed directly from the WordPress plugin repository.

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard → Plugins → Add New.
  2. Search for SureCart in the plugin search field.
  3. Click Install Now, then click Activate.

Expected outcome: Once activated, the SureCart menu becomes available in the WordPress sidebar.

Completing the Setup Wizard

After activation, the setup wizard guides the store creation process.

Step 1: Open the Setup Wizard

  1. In the WordPress sidebar, hover over the SureCart menu.
  2. Click Get Started.
  1. On the welcome screen, click Create New Store.

Step 2: Configure Store Details

On the Confirm Store Details screen, configure the following options:

  • Brand Color: Select the primary color used across store design elements and email communications. This value can be changed later.
  • Store Currency: Select the currency used to process all transactions (for example, United States Dollar, Euro).

Click Continue to proceed.

Step 3: Select a Starting Point

Two starting points are available:

  • Start From Scratch: Creates an empty store with no products.
  • Start With Demo Products: Creates the store with sample products preloaded. Demo products can be removed later.

Selecting Start With Demo Products is a practical option for first-time setups, as it allows the store to be explored with example data.

Select the desired option and click Continue.

Step 4: Confirm the Notification Email

The notification email is used to send store-related messages, such as new order alerts and payment failure notifications.

  1. Enter a valid email address in the Email Address field.
  2. Click Continue to proceed.

Note: This email can be changed later from the store settings.

Step 5: Finish the Wizard

Once the previous steps are completed, the store creation is finalized. Click View My Products to access the WordPress dashboard.

Connecting the SureCart Account

After the wizard is finished, the store must be claimed by connecting it to a SureCart account. Without this step, the store may be deleted.

Step 1: Start the Account Connection

In the WordPress dashboard, a green banner appears at the top of the SureCart Products page. Click Complete Setup in the banner.

Step 2: Sign Up or Sign In

Two account options are available:

  • Continue with Google: Registers or signs in using a Google account.
  • Manual Sign Up: Requires entering a name, email, and password.

After completing the form, click Sign Up. If an account already exists, click Sign In instead.

Note: By signing up, the SureCart Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are accepted.

Step 3: Verify the Email Address

After signing up, the SureCart dashboard displays an orange notification bar prompting email verification.

  1. Open the inbox of the registered email account.
  2. Locate the email with the subject Please verify your email.
  1. Click the Verify your email button inside the message.

Expected outcome: The orange notification bar disappears, and the account setup is complete.

Note: If the verification email does not arrive, click Resend Email in the notification bar.

Creating the First Product

Products are the items customers browse, add to the cart, and purchase. SureCart supports physical products, digital products, subscriptions, and donations.

Step 1: Open the New Product Form

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard → SureCart → Products.
  2. Click Add New.

Step 2: Configure the Product

On the new product page, configure the following:

  • Product name, description, and price
  • Product type (physical, digital, subscription, and others)
  • Product images or videos
  • Display options for store pages

Expected outcome: Once saved, the product appears in the Products list and is ready to be displayed in the store.

Notes and Limitations

  • The brand color and notification email configured during the wizard can be changed later in the store settings.
  • Demo products added during setup can be removed at any time from the Products page.
  • The store must be claimed via the Complete Setup step. Unclaimed stores may be deleted.
  • Email verification is required to activate all account features.
